3. Linebacker

Six linebackers? Maybe seven with one being a dedicated special teams ace? What do you think? Those seem to be reasonable numbers, right? After all, Philly kept seven LBs in 2023. Let's say our math is correct. Here's a quick roll call.

Nakobe Dean is on the team. So is Nicholas Morrow. We'll throw Christian Elliss on the squad. Haason Reddick is a lock to make the team. So is first-round draftee Nolan Smith. That's when we start playing the numbers game.

Davion Taylor worked with new Eagles LB coach D.J. Eliot at Colorado, but that doesn't guarantee him a roster spot, especially when Shaun Bradley, Ben VanSumeren, Patrick Johnson, and Kyron Johnson are breathing down his neck. Patrick and Kyron were on the squad last year, but could Kyron, a sixth-round draft choice in 2022, be on the outside and looking in this time around?

There's much to love about Shaun Bradley. He's also a Temple guy, so there's that. Geez, there are a lot of Temple guys in the house now. Taylor was seemingly turning the corner before a season-ending injury railroaded his 2021 campaign, but as a former third-round draftee, expect Philly to give him every opportunity to be successful.

Don't rule out a possible late addition at the position either. Can we place our vote for a Patrick Queen or Isaiah Simmons acquisition?
