Recent Eagles additions we can safely call busts after the 2023 season

We're talking veterans, young guys, and UDFAs. No one's safe. There are several Eagles we're over already.

Sometimes, things just don't work out as we plan. That's true about more important things than football, but with the way things fell apart with our Philadelphia Eagles, real-life application has, at times, taken a backseat to our favorite football team. We hate to admit that, but it's true. Sue us. We're football junkies.

Yes... We can deal with what we're working through personally. We know those things will work themselves out. They always do, but we aren't as confident about our Birds as we were at this time last offseason.

Life is about choices. Philly has a lot of decisions to make during the coming weeks and months, and they'll need to hit on most of them. Championship windows close quickly in pro football.

Plans... Some work out. Some don't. Everything Philly did during the 2017 offseason paid off, everything from adding Patrick Robinson, LeGarrette Blount, and Nick Foles to trading for Jay Ajayi and signing Corey Clement as an undrafted rookie free agent. Things have been hit-or-miss during the Nick Sirianni coaching era.

We understand why Howie Roseman and his team have done everything they have done. Our Birds are going all in baby! But again, hindsight is seen in 20-20 vision, and we can officially throw some of the talent in the 'bust' pool

Kevin Byard, safety

It's sort of an annual tradition that we obsess over disgruntled safeties that want off of their current rosters. At some point, we have all fantasized about guys like Budda Baker and Jessie Bates in Eagles jerseys.

Maybe Philly added Kevin Byard too late. This feels like this would have been a home run three years ago, but then again, he was still balling then. The Tennessee Titans had no reason to move on. Now, the conversations are about Philly potentially being the second team to move off of him in as many seasons.

Throw him on a list of bust signings. We can tell you this though. He doesn't sit alone there.
