Greedy Williams, cornerback

We have resigned ourselves to the theory that the Eagles will carry six cornerbacks on their initial 53-man roster. We don't need to waste time arguing over ideas about Darius Slay, James Bradberry, and Avonte Maddox. All will be on the team. Slay and Bradberry will start outside. Avonte is your starting slot corner. 2023 draftee Kelee Ringo will be in the mix as well.

That means Greedy Williams, Mario Goodrich, Josh Jobe, Mekhi Garner, Zech McPhearson, Eli Ricks, Josiah Scott, and Tristin McCollum are in competition for two roster spots. Glancing at those names gives us confidence that Greedy, an established veteran, will make the team, but as is the case with everything, that can't be guaranteed.

Justin Evans, safety

We're think five safeties on the 53-man roster. Is that where you guys are? Here's the thing. That means the Eagles can simply roll with the guys that they already have if five is the target number.

Terrell Edmunds, Reed Blankenship, K'Von Wallace, Sydney Brown, and Justin Evans are the guys. That leads to the discussion about whether or not any of these guys are safe, but what if there's another addition? How certain are you that Evans or anyone else in this unit won't be released?

By the way, at the time of this story's release, ESPN still lists Evans as part of the New Orleans Saints roster. If you're superstitious, that feels like a bad omen.
