Any time a vet joins a new team, it never hurts to go out of your way to introduce yourself. Whether that's getting offseason workouts together, or just hosting people at one of your various offseason homes, the summer months are always a good time to get ahead on team chemsitry.

Saquon Barkely knows that. That's why it's no surprise to see the new Eagles star running back be at the center of the team's offseason activities. While speaking to the media after OTAs this week, tight end Dallas Goedert talked a bit about what the team has planned this summer, and how big of a role Barkley had in getting it together:

Golf! There are few more time-honored traditions than NFL players bonding over rounds of summer golf. Surely that'll find it's way into the New Heights podcast somehow.

It's nice to see Barkley already take a leadership role on the team before he's ever even played a snap for them. Who knows if breaking 90 will make the Eagles any better in the 4th quarter of a December road division game, but it can't hurt. Or everyone shoots like 110 and is miserable and that bleeds into the season and the Eagles only win 5 games. That's the power of golf.
