'Fake news' and 'clickbait' might just be the ugliest words in the English language, especially if you're a journalist who covers the Philadelphia Eagles or 76ers for a living. People toss the phrases around with minimal knowledge about what they are discussing.

The worst part about the deal is most who spew the accusation are uninformed and missing the mark. The phrases are both overused and tossed around irresponsibly.

We've hung around the industry long enough to be experts in the discussion. Take 'clickbait' for instance. The phrase carries a negative connotation, but here's an announcement.

EVERYTHING RELEASED WITH THE INTENT OF RELAYING INFORMATION IS DESIGNED TO DRAW CLICKS, SO EVERY ARTICLE AND EVERY PIECE OF CONTENT IS 'CLICKBAIT'. Duh!!!

Now, there is a difference between being responsible and irresponsible. Sadly, 94 WIP-FM's Spike Eskin has set us all back by being the latter.

You aren't going to believe what Spike Eskin said during a Howie Roseman and Daryl Morey comparison. Then again, this is Spike, so you just might.

94 WIP-FM is one of the best sports stations on the planet. You can literally get lost for hours. Each show touches all of the emotions.

No one stirs the pot like Spike Eskin though. Guess what? He's at it again. Would we call this clickbait? We are in a slow news cycle. We'll tell you what. You all can be the judge.

This doesn't necessarily fall under the umbrella of what most would classify as 'fake news', but it is inaccurate. Most of us can agree on that, right? It's hard to compare what occurs in the front offices of NFL and NBA teams.

But, if we were drawing from recent history alone, we still haven't been able to figure out why Morey thought acquiring James Harden was a good idea. Didn't he also stick with Doc Rivers too long and express interest in Mike D'Antoni?

We could go on and on, but it's probably best we end things there.

We can close the case there. Again, comparing apples and oranges is hard, but Daryl Morey and Howie Roseman are nowhere close to being comparable. Howie is in a class by himself. Daryl might be sitting in the back of that same class.
