Three pending 2024 free agents that Eagles' fans should be worried about losing

The Eagles have a ton of players entering contract seasons. Each offseason brings roster turnover, but some guys will be harder to replace than you realize.

Three of the many impending 2024 Eagles free agents could prove to be bigger losses than some are thinking.

Though the list of impending Eagles free agents is lengthy, it isn't as detailed as it was last season. There aren't many stars or core players that are in contract seasons. Still, there are still a few players that could wind up being bigger losses than some expect them to be (if they wind up departing).

D'Andre Swift, RB

With Miles Sanders no longer being on the roster, the Eagles' running game will look different in 2023 than it did this past season thanks to the addition of two new faces. Rashaad Penny comes over as a free-agent acquisition after five seasons with the Seattle Seahawks. Howie Roseman and company weren't done though.

Philly made a draft day swap with the Detroit Lions to bring in D'Andre Swift. Both Penny and Swift will be free agents after this season. Both are extremely talented. Swift's skillset is truly unique.

Though it seems like he's been in the league for a while, D'Andre is just 24 years old and entering his fourth NFL season after earning All-SEC honors twice during his collegiate days with Georgia. He is a dual-threat running back who can be dangerous on the ground. He also gives quarterback Jalen Hurts an option in the passing game as a receiving back.

Injuries are a concern as, unfortunately, Swift hasn't yet been healthy for an entire NFL season, but the potential is there. From 2020 to 2022, he racked up 1,680 rushing yards, 1,198 receiving yards, and 25 total touchdowns. If he can be durable and stay on the field, he could be a dangerous player that convinces Philly to offer the rare running back extension.
