Tom Brady clears the air on his rumored disdain for Eagles legend Nick Foles
When games are out of hand and the result was decided early, announcers must, at times, dig into their 'blowout material'. The Philadelphia Eagles didn't give their fans much to cheer about in Week 4 versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. One of the best plays on the day was a blocked extra-point attempt they returned for two points.
But, hey... Tom Brady is an announcer now. and he was calling the Birds vs. Bucs game. That won't interest Eagles fans very much, but then again, it might.
During the broadcast, he offered his theory on a recent Baker Mayfield quote. He also cleared the air about how he feels about one of Philly's most beloved signal-callers.
Tom Brady clears the air on how he feels about Nick Foles (and he enjoyed a mic-drop moment referencing Baker Mayfield).
It's one of those conversations you've heard in the break room or at the water cooler. Remember that time Tom Brady gave Nick Foles the cold shoulder after Saint Nick beat him in the Super Bowl?
That day has lived in infamy. It has been discussed for almost seven years. On Sunday, the G.O.A.T. cleared the air... sort of.
Week 4's game was a blur. Truthfully, we don't remember what was said to trigger Brady's response. We think Kevin Burkhardt tried to tell a joke about Tom hating the Eagles (or something like that). Anyway... All we remember was what he said in response.
"Don't say that" (to the statement suggesting he hates the Eagles). "People thought I hated Nick Foles for years".
He also went on to state he had good friends who were Eagles fans and he hired longtime Birds fan and Philly native Kevin Hart to host his roast on Netflix. The best part about his Sunday call, however, and perhaps the only enjoyable moment of his game day call was his response to Baker Mayfield's attempt to be funny.
Okay, Tom! We won't lie. We were beginning to wander why FOX thought it was a good idea to replace Greg Olsen on the A-team with you. Who would have thought? Maybe he has a chance at being good at this gig after all.
