Several of the depth pieces on the Eagles' roster could find themselves among the top contributors this season.

In football, team success is often predicated on the production of their best players. The Kansas City Chiefs can't perform at peak level without Patrick Mahomes. The loss of a critical skill player on either side of the ball, Justin Jefferson or Micah Parsons for instance, could cause ripple effects that change a team's entire structure and scheme of a team. The Philadelphia Eagles aren't exceptions to this rule.

The loss of players like Jalen Hurts, A.J. Brown, and Darius Slay would completely change the team's game planning and alter results and production. If the best players are unavailable, the Eagles' ability to compete with the best teams in the NFC and NFL lessens.

There is, however, another side to a football team's success. Teams need to have their superstars produce, They also need unsung heroes to step up in critical moments.

Backup wide receivers can become go-to targets in the wake of an injury. Offensive linemen who no one expected much from can beat out better players in camp and becomes reliable starters. These types of players can help lead teams to the playoffs and help them win championships.
