Senior Bowl... Check! NFL Combine... Check! New league year and free-agency frenzy... Check! Pro days and pre-draft visits... Check! Check! Give yourself a high-five. You have handled this offseason and the Philadelphia Eagles' comings and goings well. Now comes another of those events that we always make room on our schedules for.

The Birds and pro football's other 31 professional franchises are in Detroit for the 2024 NFL Draft.
Campus Martius Parkand and Hart Plaza provide the backdrop for what should be a fascinating three days of action in Motown. The rumors are already swirling.

We heard earlier this week that Philly's GM, Howie Roseman, is working the phones in an attempt to move up the draft board in Round 1. We offered some possible targets if he were to do so.

Shortly after that, Quinyon Mitchell's name was mentioned as a possible target when Sporstkeedia's Tony Pauline reported Philly might be looking to swap places with the Denver Broncos. Keep your eyes peeled and your ears open. We may see some unexpected action.

What time does the 2024 NFL Draft begin?

The 2024 NFL Draft runs from April 25 through April 27th. Start times for all three days are as follows:

Round 1: Thursday, April 25 at 8 p.m. EST.
Rounds 2-3: Friday, April 26 at 7 p.m. EST.
Rounds 4-7: Saturday, April 27. at noon EST.

Watch the festivities on ABC, NFL Network, ESPN, and ESPN Deportes. We recommend our buddies over at Fubo TV for your viewing pleasure. They offer a free trial for new users and subscribers.

How many picks do the Eagles own?

If nothing changes between now and the start of Round 1 (or at any point during the three days' proceedings), the Philadelphia Eagles are scheduled to make eight selections. They are as follows:

  • Day one, Round 1: Pick 22
  • Day two, Round 2: Pick 50 (via New Orleans)
  • Day two, Round 2: Pick 53
  • Day three, Round 4: Pick 120 (via Pittsburgh)
  • Day three, Round 5: Pick 161 (via Tampa Bay)
  • Day three, Round 5: Pick 171 (compensatory pick)
  • Day three, Round 5: Pick 172 (comp pick)
  • Day three, Round 6: Pick 210 (comp pick)

Things could get interesting once we arrive at showtime and NFL Commissioner Rodger Goodell steps to the podium to announce the Chicago Bears are on the clock with the first-overall selection. Seven rounds await. Then, we expect another class of undrafted rookie free agents. We repeat. This ought to be a fascinating weekend.
