The NFL did not do many favors for the Philadelphia Eagles with their 2025 schedule being one of the most daunting in the league.
Just within the first five games, the Eagles have to face four 2024 playoff teams as well as their division rival Dallas Cowboys. Philly will not have an easy time as last year they started 2-2 on the year and it might be more of the same in 2025.
Will the Eagles be able to ride out the wave of challenging game and get over .500 after five weeks of play?
Predicting the Eagles' first five games of massive 2025 season
Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles - Week 1
- Date: Thursday, September 4
- Time: 8:15 p.m. EST
- Venue: Lincoln Financial Field
- Channel: NBC
This opening game got a who lot easier with Micah Parsons no longer on the other side. It doesn't mean the Eagles should phone it in as the Cowboys still have George Pickens and CeeDee Lamb in the passing game with Dak Prescott throwing it to them.
With a lack of a pass rush, it still feels like the Eagles might lean more on quarterback Jalen Hurts to throw and run more than handing it off to running back Saquon Barkley. The Eagles might be putting up big numbers to open the season similar to the first Packers game last year.
Anything short of a double-digit win for the Eagles against Dallas should be considered a major disappointment.
Prediction: Eagles 31, Cowboys 16 (Record: 1-0)
Philadelphia Eagles vs. Kansas City Chiefs - Week 2
- Date: Sunday, September 14
- Time: 4:25 p.m. EST
- Venue: Arrowhead Stadium
- Channel: FOX
The Super Bowl rematch. This is already one of the most highly anticipated games of the 2025 regular season. Philly remembers Kansas City fondly after crushing them 40-22 in the Super Bowl back in February.
There's a sense that this game won't be as much of a blowout as it was earlier in the year. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is too good to let that happen and the Eagles' defense might be too green to put up the same performance they did then.
Kansas City is seeking revenge and while it is definitely possibly the Eagles can beat them, the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium is never an easy place to win at. Philadelphia could be suffering their first loss of the year.
Prediction: Chiefs 23, Eagles 21 (Record: 1-1)
Los Angeles Rams vs. Philadelphia Eagles - Week 3
- Date: Sunday, September 21
- Time: 1:00 p.m. EST
- Venue: Lincoln Financial Field
- Channel: FOX
Another playoff rematch on the docket for the Eagles as they face the one team that almost ended their Super Bowl hopes, the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams stormed back in the NFC Divisional Round playoff game in the snow and came close to beating the Eagles, but lost 28-22.
Many believe Los Angeles is one of the biggest threats to the Eagles' chances of winning the NFC again. The question with the Rams is whether their quarterback, Matthew Stafford, is truly healthy or if it's all the show on TV?
With the Eagles being home, it feels like they need a get-right game after falling to the Chiefs the previous week. Barkley might have another 200-yard game in him against his favorite team, the Rams.
Prediction: Eagles 27, Rams 23 (Record: 2-1)
Philadelphia Eagles at Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Week 4
- Date: Sunday, September 28
- Time: 1:00 p.m. EST
- Venue: Raymond James Stadium
- Channel: FOX
For whatever reason, the Buccaneers have been the Eagles' Achilles heel for the last 10 years. Since 2015, Tampa Bay has beaten the Eagles six of the last seven times. Just last year, the Buccaneers blew out the Eagles 33-16, the third time in the last four matches where Tampa Bay won by double digits.
The trend has to end some time, but the reality is the Buccaneers are the same team they were last year and the Eagles have gone through some changes defensively. Philly's secondary is going to be tested with Baker Mayfield and Mike Evans leading one of the top passing attacks in the NFL.
On paper, this should be one the Eagles win. Tampa Bay always seems to have the Eagles' number and with them on the road a fourth straight game against the Bucs, Philly might be in danger of another loss and starting 2-2 on the season again.
Prediction: Buccaneers 28, Eagles 20 (Record: 2-2)
Denver Broncos vs. Philadelphia Eagles - Week 5
- Date: Sunday, October 5
- Time: 1:00 p.m. EST
- Venue: Lincoln Financial Field
- Channel: CBS
Eagles fans would hope for an easier bounce-back game, but the Broncos are not a team to play around with. Denver's head coach Sean Peyton has worked with very little money and was able to rebuild the team within a few years.
The biggest issue for the Eagles is Broncos quarterback Bo Nix, who can use his legs and make plays with his arm. Denver typically has a solid running and they have one of the top five defenses in the NFL.

Expect this game to be a low-scoring affair, but the Eagles have a little more juice on offense to get Barkley going and pick up a much-needed win.
Prediction: Eagles 16, Broncos 10 (Record: 3-2)
