On paper, this Philadelphia Eagles secondary, despite concerns at safety, is just super scary to look at.

Specifically focused on the cornerbacks, the projected starters between free agent signing Riq Woolen and 2025 All-Pros Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean make this trio incredible and might be one of the best the franchise has had in a long time. Woolen made it clear to the media how he feels about this secondary compared to the other 31 teams in the NFL.

"Honestly, I feel like we can be one of the best secondary groups in the league," Woolen said via The Athletic's Zach Berman. "We're all confident about that. These guys have shown that with their work. I showed it with the work I put in. So being able to join them, the sky is the limit, and I feel like we can be one of the best groups in the NFL."

It helps that the Eagles have two Pro Bowlers and All-Pros in the secondary, Mitchell and DeJean. Those two are arguably top 10 corners in the league just by themselves.

Woolen adds a different dynamic to the Eagles' secondary, though, as his 6-foot-4 size gives the unit the height they have been wanting. They have that in Kelee Ringo, but he does not have the skill set that Woolen has displayed at OTAs.

Early in minicamp, Woolen has impressed everyone, as he has been one of the most talked-about players on the Eagles. He is looking like he can make a major impact on the team as their new CB2, which is a welcome change after the struggles of Ringo and Adoree' Jackson last year in that position.

As the Eagles try to address their safety concerns over the summer, Woolen at least gives them some assurance that they don't have to worry about the cornerback position in 2026. If his practices carry over to the regular season, there's a chance Woolen might land an even longer contract with the Eagles and stick around a little bit longer.
