We all do too. We all do.

There's been a lot said about the kind of offense the Philadelphia Eagles have run in 2025, with many wishing it were more like the one from 2024. Some who feel that way are from right inside the building.

One of the biggest complaints about the Eagles' offense is the lack of usage for 2024 Offensive Player of the Year, running back Saquon Barkley.

Last year was a banner year for Barkley with 2,005 yards and 13 touchdowns on the ground. It's a much different story in 2025 as he has rushed for just 369 yards and three touchdowns through seven games.

Barkley's struggles on offense are directly affecting the Eagles' rushing attack as a whole. They are currently ranked 30th in the NFL in rushing yards, averaging just 88.1 yards per game. In the Nick Sirianni era as head coach of the Eagles, he has never finished outside the top 10 in rushing yards in a season.

Something has to change with the Eagles' offense and their running game, as they have lost their identity as a team. Getting the ball more to Barkley is not only a dream of Eagles fans but also of some close to the team.

Barkley gets candid on his thoughts with his usage in the offense

Barkley has been friendly with the media of late, with a lot of different comments. He spoke with them about something he wished for the 2025 Eagles offense.

"Coming into the season, I said it's going to look different. I wish it didn't look like this right now, but we're winning football games. ...I bet you this point last year, you flip it – our pass game wasn't where we wanted it to be, but we were running it like crazy. And it was like, how do we get the pass game going?"

To the credit of Barkley, he has been the ultimate team player and a good cheerleader after they win games. Everyone knows deep down that he's upset with how he is playing and wants to contribute more when they are victorious.

At some point this season, it's going to break for Barkley, and he will be unstoppable once he finally gets a taste of over 100 yards in a game.
