Steelers hand the Eagles an early gift ahead of the holiday season
This looks like it's shaping up to be a great evening. When it's all said and done, the Philadelphia Eagles could walk out of Week 10's NFL action as the only NFC East team to earn a win. We always love those weekends when they occur. Here's your update.
The New York Giants flew overseas to tackle the Carolina Panthers and were handled by way of 20-17 overtime loss. The Pittsburgh Steelers handed the Washington Commanders their third loss of the season.
Philly, at 6-2, needs only to take care of business vs. a wounded Dallas Cowboys squad. If they do that, they'll be in sole possession of first place in the NFC East.
Zach Ertz helps the Steelers hand the Eagles an early holiday present.
We near November's midpoint which means it's holiday season. We're thankful ahead of Thanksgiving and have already opened an early Christmas present. With less than two minutes remaining, the Washington Commanders were driving to potentially place themselves in position for a go-ahead field goal. Jayden Daniels found Zach Ertz on 4th and 9, but the former Eagle wouldn't reach the first down marker.
Yeah, we love Zach Ertz and all, but there's no point in throwing him the football short of the marker. The hands have always been there, but we can't even remember the last time we saw him break a tackle.
Pittsburgh would take over and eventually get the Commanders to jump offsides. That allowed the Black and Gold to run the clock out.
You know what that means. All the Birds have to do is walk into Arlington and do what they haven't done since 2017, win on the Cowboys' home field. If they do that, they'll again take command of the NFC East in the standings.
