Everyone has been proposing trades involving Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown, but the latest one might make the most sense for the team.
ESPN NFL writer Bill Barnwell had a brand new mock trade proposal that would send Brown and a 2026 fifth-round pick to the Denver Broncos. Philly would get Broncos cornerback Riley Moss, a 2026 second-round pick, and a 2027 fifth-round pick.
"This might be one way to make the 2026 team better as part of a Brown deal," Barnwell said. "The Eagles fielded an excellent defense in 2025, but their obvious weak spot was at outside cornerback, where teams threw at the guy who wasn't Quinyon Mitchell or Cooper DeJean. If there's anybody in the league who has experience seeing plenty of targets at cornerback, it's Moss. He has seen a relentless stream of throws playing across from Pat Surtain II.
Though Moss has given up plenty of yards by virtue of those whopping target numbers, he has generally been a solid cornerback; Moss posted an 88.2 passer rating in coverage last season and had an above-average missed tackle rate. He's entering the final year of his contract, which would allow the Eagles to sign Moss to an extension as part of a talented young secondary or pick up a potential compensatory selection if he leaves after the season. Either way, he would be a meaningful upgrade over Adoree' Jackson and Kelee Ringo."
New trade proposal sends A.J. Brown to Denver Broncos
One good thing about the trade is that the Eagles would get a proper CB2 in Moss that could help the secondary after having to deal with Jackson and Ringo over the last year. Moss led the NFL in pass deflections with 19 while adding 80 tackles, three tackles for loss, one quarterback hit, one sack, and one interception in 17 games.
Another great aspect of Moss being on the roster is that he is in the final year of his contract, and according to Spotrac, the Eagles would only have a cap hit of roughly $3.9 million, which might be cheaper than any CB2 Philly would be targeting. Even if he ends up not being that great in 2026, they can still let him walk in free agency and could use their second-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft to have a backup plan in case it doesn't go well with Moss.
This helps Brown as he gets his new home and would make him the number one receiver in the Broncos' offense alongside Courtland Sutton. Since Brown will get all the targets and still be on a Super Bowl-contending team, it works out well for him.

If the Eagles concede the expectation of receiving a first-round pick for Brown, this is a good deal to take for them.
