Everybody just loves to pile it on Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts with negative commentary, but he's getting a defender in someone.
ESPN Monday Night Football commentator Troy Aikman went out in defense of Hurts just a few weeks ago, which grabbed a lot of attention. Now FOX Sports host Jason McIntyre, who filled in for Colin Cowherd for the holiday weekend, talked about how Hurts gets all the blame and never the credit when they win.
"I get the sense that when they have a lot of success in Philly, 'Well, it's Saquon Barkley. He had 2,000 yards.' What did he do in the Super Bowl when Hurts was MVP? I'll let you look that up during the commercial break. 'Well, it's the defense, Jay. It's not that much, Jalen Hurts.' Anytime they lose, do you want to guess who the blame is on? Yeah, it's funny how it works that way."

McIntyre said it best when he started the conversation about Hurts, noting that he would always refer to him first as "Super Bowl MVP Jalen Hurts," which is the right thing to do. Arguably, Hurts' two best games of his career came in the Super Bowl, and had the Eagles won it back in the 2022 season, he would have been the MVP of that game too.
Not to mention that Hurts has also been a Pro Bowler three times in his career. He has also won roughly 68% of his career starts, which is incredibly hard to do in the NFL.
Of course, this offseason has been filled with negative storylines about Hurts being uncoachable, often changing plays in the huddle, and being unwilling to run the football. He never gets the respect that he deserves on the field, and that might be the trend for him the rest of his career.

It's a shame that's the case, but Eagles fans know the truth since they see him every game play his heart out for the team
