The Philadelphia Eagles had some flaws put on front street in the loss to the Chicago Bears, but they are looking to turn the page and focus on what's ahead.

The safety room has been underwhelming thus far in the season, and defensive coordinator Vic Fangio revealed that Cooper DeJean will stay in the slot. He has taken some snaps at safety in Philadelphia's base package, but his primary position will be at slot CB.

That's interesting since they recently added Kenny Moore, but with their weaknesses at safety, they might have to consider playing him there, especially since he's played the majority of his NFL snaps at slot.

Kenny Moore may have to fill key role after Vic Fangio's statement

Fangio was asked about Moore lining up at safety during a presser. He didn't shut down the idea but expressed that it would be a lot to ask in the short term.

"He's a down-the-line possibility, maybe. He's really never played safety in his career, so it'd be some heavy lifting for him on the immediate return," Fangio said.

And when you look at the numbers, it's true, as Moore has logged 300-plus snaps in the slot in each of the last eight seasons. That's the position he's excelled at, but with that being DeJean's spot, the Eagles will need to find another way to get him on the field.

Quinyon Mitchell and Riq Woolen are locked into the boundary spots, so if Moore is going to get meaningful snaps, it looks like it may have to come at safety. The Eagles have a revolving door next to Andrew Mukuba, who is struggling himself.

Michael Carter II and Marcus Epps are rotating at safety, and that isn't ideal. They are looking for someone to help stabilize that unit, but there isn't a ton of confidence in that group right now.

That's where a player like Moore can fill in. He expressed that other teams had interest in him, but he wanted to stay with Philadelphia after getting comfortable with the coaching staff. That's a testament to the plan that the Eagles crafted for him, and considering they need to find a way to put their best players on the field, Moore has to fit into that bubble.

Corners moving back to safety isn't something new. Plenty of players in the past have done so and found success when they made the transition. Of course, Moore would need time and reps, as he's used to being near the line of scrimmage for most of his career.

It's not an easy thing to make that pivot, but he's extremely smart and has the talent to do so. The fact that Fangio didn't shut down the idea completely means they probably have had some conversations about it.

Teams have attacked the Eagles' safeties, as Fangio alluded to, and they need answers. Moore is a nine-year veteran who has seen a ton of different route concepts and schemes over his career. His mind would immediately give Philadelphia a boost on the back end.

While they may not ask him to play there in the next few weeks, it could be something that's put on his plate down the line, and with how bad the safety room has been, it seems like it's worth the shot.
