Well, we got the result we wanted. The Philadelphia Eagles are headed back to the Super Bowl, but here comes the sportsmanship portion.
As football fans. we have to tip our caps to an impressive Washington Commanders team. They came to compete. They gave it everything they had. They'll play in some big games vs. the Birds down the line.
There are three former Birds on the Commanders playoff roster. We congratulate one of them as he still owns a place in our hearts.
Better yet... Why not let another legend do so for us?

Fletcher Cox makes a nice gesture to Zach Ertz. This one made us smile.
There was one Commander on our minds following the Eagles' 55-23 win over Washington, Zach Ertz. We don't really have to explain why that is, do we?
He came to ball too. He was targeted 16 times and notched 104 yards on 11 receptions. He didn't everything to give his guys a chance at winning.
Ertz spent eight full seasons and 11 games of a ninth with the Philadelphia Eagles becoming the second-leading receiver in franchise history the process. Cox was around for his entire career. They became Super Bowl champions together.
Sunday, following the NFC Championship Game, they shared an embrace. Try to fight the tears back on this one.
Ertz was named to three Pro Bowl rosters as a member of the Eagles organization. He'll be welcomed back home once he's done playing.
It was also nice to see him and Nick Sirianni share an embrace. One thing is certain. He may not ever admit this publicly, but we know he'll be cheering for the Birds on Super Bowl Sunday.
