The dreaded Sports Hernia has reared it’s ugly head again to the Eagles. Donovan McNabb, Sheldon Brown, and L.J. Smith have all suffered this injury, and now it has hit WR Kevin Curtis. Curtis got injured sometime during last weeks pre season game against the Carolina Panthers.
He is expected to undergo surgery to repair the injury tomorrow morning, and should be out of action for a while. Andy Reid would not give a specific time table for his return, but typically this injury keeps players out of action 3-6 weeks. The regular season starts in two and a half weeks, [...]

Panthers WR Mushin Muhammad recently made a comment on SI.com, saying “Chicago is where receivers go to die”. While playing for the Bears may be rough, I think Moose forgot what is was like to cross the middle of the field in Brian Dawkins’ territory.
Muhammad found out the consequences of this mistake in Thursday’s preseason match against the Eagles. It appeared that Moose caught a touchdown in the middle of the endzone, but Weapon X knocked the ball loose with a punishing hit. An Electrifying Night: I can’t remember the last time an Eagles game was delayed due to lightning. I guess it is more likely to happen in August then during the regular season. The delay seemed to really hurt the Eagles. Before the rain, the Eagles were moving the ball pretty well, but were unable to score. After the break they looked to be in a funk. McNabb was suddenly making mistakes, WRs were dropping passes, and the offense was unable to do much overall.

Madden 2009 in in stores now, and is getting rave reviews. Each year the creators from EA improve the game, and add new features. Here is a video of what the game play is like. The graphics are just amazing.
The funniest thing about the game, is that Brett Favre is on the cover in a Packers uniform.

Opening Drive Cause For Concern?: The Steelers took the field on the opening drive, and ran the ball down the Eagles throats. Actually runs to the outside seemed to really hurt the Eagles the most. With two undersized defensive ends,  I guess it makes sense to run the ball to the edges. Seeing that worried me some, and I wonder if this will be a problem all season.
This might sound crazy, but maybe with Victor Abiamiri out, the Eagles should consider starting Darren Howard or maybe even Jerome McDougle at left end. Not that these two have great size, but both would [...]

The Eagles have struck a deal with Super Star running back Brian Westbrook!> (PE.com)
UPDATE!: John Clayton of ESPN, is reporting that this is an extension that runs until the year 2013. The extension will give Westbrook $24 Million in guaranteed money over the next 3 years(signing bonus and roster bonuses), and could potentially be worth $24 Million. The deal included a $13 Million signing bonus.
