The Philadelphia Eagles need to watch a little Ohio State football.

Ohio State’s Jeremy Ruckert is a six-foot-five, 253-pound prospect that, despite appearing in only ten games before 2020’s season, has already risen on draft boards all season long. Playing for the Buckeyes and having Justin Fields toss you the rock doesn’t hurt either.

There may not be a lot of game film on Ruckert yet, but if history is any indication, the Buckeyes will be in a lot of big games which means that they’ll be on television once or twice. There’s also their track record of putting talented players in the NFL.

Ruckert’s game resembles Ertz’s if you’ve followed him closely, at least from what he has on tape so far. There’s plenty of tread on the tires. They’ll be plenty of opportunities for him to show off his mettle.

As mentioned earlier, Philly may not draft wide receivers very well, but they have a fairly decent eye for talent at the tight end position. That means that they already know who this guy is. The mere thought of Zach Ertz in another jersey makes the stomach turn if you’re a Birds fan, but if moving him is a possibility, Ruckert is one of those guys that may be capable of making Philly’s transition a smooth one.
