In a 2025 campaign for the Philadelphia Eagles mired in offensive mediocrity, issues abounded as the offense failed to take flight consistently.

One of the chief areas of concern was the offensive line, an elite unit routinely lauded as one of the very best in the NFL. Veteran guard Landon Dickerson was one of three starters up front forced in and out of action due to injuries, and after shaking off retirement rumors, he enters 2026 as one of the most important Eagles.

This season could signal redemption for Landon Dickerson

While 2025 was a season most members of the Eagles' offense would love to move on from, there are few players with a more important upcoming season ahead.

Coming off the Super Bowl LIX run in which he was clearly hobbled, Dickerson gutted it out to start 15 games last year, with the individual results valiant but falling well short of expectations. The three-time pro bowler was clearly not himself; the injuries were lingering, and rumors of an early retirement started to swirl.

Recent polling league=wide saw his lofty status take a sizeable hit, but for Dickerson - a player so dominant when fully healthy - his return in 2026 provides perhaps the biggest opportunity for a rebound of anyone on the entire roster.

Early reports out of training camp indicate Dickerson is, in fact, back with a vengeance. Ruben Frank of NBC Sports Philadelphia shed light on the full participation of the standout left guard, and teammate Dallas Goedert also chimed in on his importance.

"The more starters that you have that are out here healthy is huge," Dallas Goedert said. "Getting Landon out here, watching him work the way he does, he's so dominant. Landon and Cam (Jurgens) both look good.

"And just the more we can gel together, work together, understand what everybody's thinking, how we're going to hit our blocks and things like that is just going to help us in the long run."

That repetition piece mentioned by Goedert is so critical, as offseason surgery at this time last year saw Dickerson relegated to the sidelines. And with a new offensive direction being implemented, the presence of not only Dickerson, but the entire starting unit, remains essential.

The unit up front is fully intact, and with star Saquon Barkley poised to post another monster season, Dickerson and company appear ready to pave the way.
