Last season was the first time in a long time that Philadelphia Eagles fans saw their starting offensive line struggle in ways they had never seen.
Guys like Lane Johnson, Cam Jurgens, and Landon Dickerson struggled to stay healthy all season, which either led to them missing multiple games or to them playing hurt but not performing well. This has led to many offseason questions about the line, as the Eagles almost saw Johnson and Dickerson retire from the NFL because of those injuries.
ESPN NFL reporter Jeremy Fowler continued his series on surveying league executives, coaches, and scouts to rank the best players at each position. The NFL has made it clear how they feel about Dickerson and Jurgens since they received some votes, but they weren't in the top 14 among interior offensive linemen, which includes guards and centers.
Is Landon Dickerson and Cam Jurgens falling out of favor with the NFL?
It was as clear as day that Dickerson was playing through his meniscus injury he suffered in training camp, which led to more injuries piling up. The three-time Pro Bowler allowed 32 pressures, seven quarterback hits, and five sacks in 468 pass-blocking snaps last year. Pro Football Focus ranked him 31st among guards with an overall grade of 67.2.
Jurgens was in the same situation last season, as he played through a back injury he sustained in the 2024 season and never fully healed 100%. He still managed to earn a Pro Bowl selection after allowing 11 pressures, one quarterback hit, and zero sacks in 484 pass-blocking snaps. PFF ranked him as the 21st-best center with an overall grade of 63.4.
The good news is that there are indications that Jurgens and Dickerson are doing much better entering the 2026 season. Jurgens opened up about receiving stem cell treatment on his back in the offseason and said it's the best he's felt in two years.
Just in case, the Eagles used the NFL Draft to pick up two young offensive linemen to back up Johnson and Dickerson: Markel Bell in the third round and Micah Morris in the sixth round. Philly is looking to get younger on the offensive line after letting Brett Toth and Matt Pryor walk in free agency, but did bring back Fred Johnson.

2026 could really determine where the Eagles are heading with the future of the offensive line. Dickerson and Jurgens seem to be off the NFL's list of best interior offensive linemen for now, but could use this year to prove that they are back and ready to take the top spots again.
