Philadelphia Eagles Week 11 Fantasy Football Predictions

The Philadelphia Eagles are headed to Green Bay to take on the Packers in week 11. My week 10 Fantasy Football projections were hit and miss, but it was new Eagles quarterback Mark Sanchez’s first start. For my week 11 Fantasy Football projections, I look to get back on track with some sure fire picks, and one bold pick for the players who bleed green.

The Eagles will be hard to read until we see a few more games out of Sanchez. When he took over for Nick Foles in week 9, the Eagles employed a run heavy offense that helped Eagles running back LeSean McCoy. While Sanchez isn’t known for his deep throws, he also took a quick down field shot to Eagles wide receiver Jeremy Maclin, but that all changed in week 10.

1. Jordan Matthews – WR
I’ve said the same thing since the very first time I watched the two players play together. Mark Sanchez loves Jordan Matthews. During Eagles OTA’s and during the preseason, it was easy to see the connection that Sanchez developed with Matthews. I knew when Sanchez took over as the Eagles signal caller, that Jordan Matthews Fantasy Football value would increase more than anyone else.

Last week I called for 80 yards and a touchdown. The 80 yards would have been almost double the best yardage that Matthews had put up this season. Boy was I “wrong.” What a game. 138 yards receiving and 2 touchdowns. Get used to seeing Matthews name as long as Sanchez is starting.

I think this week Jordan Matthews has a game more similar to my projections last week. In fact, I believe he splits my projection and his last weeks numbers.

6 catches – 100 yards – 1 touchdown

2. LeSean McCoy – RB
Week 10 was surprising for LeSean McCoy. I saw a heavy dose of the run during week 9 and figured that would carry over into week 10. Who knows what week 11 brings, but one thing cant be overlooked, Green Bay has a terrible run defense. Green Bay is giving up nearly 145 yards per game so if there were a week to rely on the run, it would be this week.

McCoy’s value could also depend on if this game becomes a shoot out. Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been surgical in his dismantling of opposing defenses. If the Eagles fall behind early, we could see a heavy increase in passing attack, but I don’t think it gets to that point.

LeSean McCoy Week 11 Fantasy Football Prediction:
20 carries – 80 yards rushing – 1 touchdown

3. Philadelphia Eagles Defense – DEF
This is my bold prediction for week 11. The Philadelphia Eagles defense will not be embarrassed by Aaron Rodgers. All things are relative so keep that in mind. Green Bay will score, there will be no shut out or 7 point games, but the Eagles defense will only allow 24 points.

This team has been on the rise all season and last week against the Carolina Panthers was a great example. The Eagles defense relies on quarterback pressure more than most teams. I believe most fans are aware what happens to our secondary when quarterbacks have time to to through their reads.
