1) Much interest in Nick Foles?

Former NFL head coach Jon Gruden believes a lot of teams would come calling if Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly decided to make quarterback Nick Foles available.

Of course they would, and why not? It seems Foles is only undervalued in Philadelphia (which isn’t unusual for any city and any quarterback).

The good news here is that if the Eagles look to move Foles, they’ll get a good return. The bad news is if a lot of teams are interested in Foles, it means most teams see him as a quality quarterback and the Eagles really shouldn’t be trading him in the first place.

2) Byron Maxwell probably isn’t coming to Philadelphia

Seattle is apparently going to make it a priority to talk to Byron Maxwell and get a deal done before the stud cornerback hits free agency.

Makes sense, though I’m not sure if I was available I’d want to see the Eagles go after him. The Birds don’t have the best track record when it comes to landing stud corners in free agency. It might be a better idea to go after some raw talent, some hungry players who have the potential to become lockdown corners.

3) Who the heck is Ryan Day?

Meet your new Philadelphia Eagles quarterbacks coach, folks, Mr. Ryan Day, most recently of the Boston College football team that couldn’t pass to save its life.

Supposedly, this guy is an up and comer and has a connection with Kelly that goes back to New Hampshire. So, OK, whatever.

Just saying, most recently, if you watched five minutes of Boston College football this season, based upon that there is little reason to be excited about this hire.

4) Leading “GM” candidate has emerged

The Eagles are apparently having a second interview with Chris Polian to fill their vacant “general manager” position.

Raise your hand if you wanted to see the Eagles grab front office expertise from that juggernaut, the Jacksonville Jaguars. Anyone?

5) Someone figures out how to use Sproles

I hope Chip Kelly watched the Pro Bowl and saw Darren Sproles finish the game with six catches for 79 yards and three carries for 42 yards.

Sproles was missing in action for large chunks of the season, particularly in the second half. It seemed like a puzzling omission that Kelly, considered an offensive genius by all, could not utilize this offensive weapon.

Maybe he learned something Sunday.

6) Don’t cut Riley Cooper

I absolutely, 100 percent agree with this post from the 700 Level, that it makes no sense to cut Riley Cooper as it would be a costly move against the Eagles’ salary cap.

But trade the guy. You mean to tell me no would would take him for a fourth or fifth round pick? Get it done and get him gone.

7) But absolutely cut Cary Williams

I don’t care if the Eagles have to forfeit a draft pick. Get Cary Williams on the first bus out of town.

8) Foles to St. Louis?

The Rams have been a disaster at quarterback thanks to Sam Bradford’s faulty knees and according to NJ.com they’re looking interested in Nick Foles.

This is a move that makes a lot of sense for a St. Louis team that seems to be a quarterback away from contending.

Here’s what’s interesting about this – the Rams own the No. 10 pick in the draft. Could the Eagles swap first rounders with St. Louis if Foles was part of the deal? If Kelly truly covets Marcus Mariota, he stands a much better chance of moving into the top spot from No. 10.

This is a situation to keep an eye on.

9) Kelly green?

Throwing it out there – how about a switch back to the “kelly green” uniforms prior to the 2015 season? Thoughts? Comment below.

10) Would you rather…?

The Eagles not be caught cheating and never win a Super Bowl, or be the New England Patriots? Comment below.

11) Is a deal with Jeremy Maclin really in jeopardy?

As detailed here on Inside the Iggles, some feel the fact that wide receiver Jeremy Maclin has a new agent deals a blow to the Eagles’ chances of signing the Mizzou product to a new deal.

Rubbish.

Maclin knows his best-case scenario is to stay in Philadelphia. He wants to stay in Philadelphia. He’ll have success in Philadelphia.

He’s not stupid and, sure, it’s his agent’s job to get him a lot of money, they’ll do just fine with the Eagles. Mark it down. This is a done deal.
