Conclusion

As you can see, it’s tough to not picture East Carolina wide receiver Justin Hardy in a Philadelphia Eagles uniform. He’s got all the tools that head coach Chip Kelly looks for at wide receiver. Hardy is one hell of a blocker, dangerous in space and is reliable on third down. All of those things are incredibly important and highly valued by Kelly.

  • The only things that Hardy has left to prove throughout the draft process is that he can get separation against NFL caliber defensive players and that he has the long speed that people question if he has or not. Hardy can shoot down both of those things at the upcoming NFL Scouting Combine with an impressive time in the 40-yard dash and then the receiving drills as well.

Justin Hardy is currently ranked as the 17th overall wide receiver prospect, and is projected to get drafted in the third or fourth round according to CBS Sports. At that point in the draft, Hardy would be an absolute steal for any team, in my personal opinion. He can bring everything you need to the field as a slot receiver.

As far as Hardy’s potential fit on the Eagles, there would have to be some changes in the depth chart for him to see the field immediately. But if head coach Chip Kelly thinks Hardy fits the team as well as I think he does, then Philadelphia might be getting a steal at wide receiver if they call Justin Hardy’s name late on day two or early day three of the 2015 NFL Draft.
