It’s almost here. Just two days remaining until the start of the 2015 NFL Draft, something every NFL fan has been waiting for, especially fans of the Philadelphia Eagles. Everyone is anxious to see what head coach Chip Kelly will do with his new power over the entire team’s roster and what decisions he will make during the draft. Will he “mortgage the future” for his former Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota? Could he trade some fan favorites currently on the Eagles’ roster for more picks? Anything is possible, all that and more in this morning’s serving of Bacon, Eggs and Eagles!

Realistic Draft Trade Possibilities for the Philadelphia EaglesBryn Swartz of BleacherReport.com

"There is no general manager in the National Football League quite like Chip Kelly when it comes to handling his players. Okay, well maybe one. Bill Belichick is similar in the sense that he’ll get rid of any player on his team, except for Tom Brady, at any time. But even Bill Belichick would never have embarked on the crazy stretch Kelly did in March when he completely turned over his roster."

Familiar Faces Aid Alonso’s Move To Philly Katie Tang of PhiladelphiaEagles.com

"The first day of free agency was quite the adventure for linebacker Kiko Alonso. The Philadelphia Eagles officially announced the team was trading all-time leading rusher LeSean McCoy to Buffalo to acquire the promising young defensive talent.“I didn’t see myself getting traded,” Alonso said. “But it happened and it’s a business. I’m happy with where I’m at now, and I can’t wait to get to work.”"

Eagles’ draft needs: CornerbackLes Bowen of Philly.com

"What they have: The Eagles got rid of both 2014 starters, Bradley Fletcher and Cary Williams. They’ve added a couple of ex-Seahawks, Byron Maxwell at six years for $63 million, and Walter Thurmond, at the much more modest $3.25 million, along with former Buc and Redskin E.J. Biggers. They also have returnees Brandon Boykin, Jaylen Watkins (possibly tabbed as a safety) and Nolan Carroll. What they need: A tall, long-armed, long-term bookend to Maxwell. The Eagles’ scheme puts a lot of pressure on the corners; they need above-average starters at both spots, which they haven’t had thus far in the Chip Kelly-Bill Davis regime. If either Boykin or Carroll ends up starting, they will have to be replaced in nickel and dime, respectively."

Fan-Demonium: Tommy’s Favorite DefendersTommy Lawlor of PhiladelphiaEagles.com

"The NFL Draft is now just three days away and excitement is in the air. One of the big goals for the Eagles has to be finding more weapons for the defense. There are some really interesting defenders in this draft, and not just in the first round. I already detailed my favorite offensive players in the NFL Draft. Now, let’s take a look at some of my favorite defense prospects. Not all of these guys will be Eagles targets due to scheme fit and some other reasons."

Draft prospects that check the Eagles’ boxes, WR editionJimmy Kempski of PhillyVoice.com

"Ed Marynowitz’s first session with the media as Chip Kelly’s right hand man, he laid out the Eagles’ three-part evaluation process for draft prospects, noted below:1) Height – Weight – Speed“Number one, it’s the height-weight-speed, according to the position. That’s the one factor of it. They either have that or they don’t. It doesn’t necessarily eliminate them per se, but that’s one element of it. So you’ll grade that individually.”2) Position specifics“The second part is the position specifics, or the critical factors for that position, which is basically the guy’s athletic ability to play that specific spot, which is also relative to your system and scheme. Every team is different, so we have certain prototypes for that.”3) #Culture“The third part is the character, attitude, and intelligence piece, in terms of the right football makeup, and how we want to build the team.”"

The dream that many Philadelphia Eagles’ fans have of the team trading up for Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota included trading current projected starting quarterback Sam Bradford. But ESPN’s Chris Mortensen put that idea to rest…or is it just a smokescreen?
