Nelson Agholor may be the next Emmanuel Sanders

Philadelphia Eagles rookie wide receiver Nelson Agholor is versatile and runs clean routes but could he be the next Emmanuel Sanders? Only time will tell. NFL Network draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah seems to think Agholor has a similar skill-set to Sanders but believes he only has the potential to be a great number two wide receiver, something that may bother Eagles’ fans. Either way, there is certainly a ton of hype surrounding Philadelphia’s first-round pick and deservedly so. All that and more in this morning’s serving of Bacon, Eggs and Eagles!

An Agholor/Emmanuel Sanders Comparison – Tim McManus of PhillyMag.com

"Former scout and current NFL Network analyst Daniel Jeremiah joined Rob Ellis and Harry Mayes on 97.5 The Fanatic to offer his thoughts on the state of the Eagles heading into camp.Nelson Agholor came up in the conversation. While Jeremiah might not be totally on board with the NFL exec that thinks Agholor is a number one receiver, he is high on the former USC wideout.“I think he’s a big-time guy. Ideally to me he is a great number two, I don’t think in terms of the size and physicality that I would want in my number one guy, but I think he can be an outstanding number two,” he said. “There’s a lot of guys with his skill set that have been very, very successful. Emmanuel Sanders is who he reminds me of, and we’ve seen what he can do both in Pittsburgh and out in Denver. I think he’s outstanding. He’s very tough and he’s very instinctive and I think he’s one of these guys that we saw last year where all these rookies jumped right in, no adjustment period; I think he’s going to fall into that [category]. He’s going to jump right in and be ready to go.”"

Fan-Demonium: Kelly Vs. The Class Of ’13Tommy Lawlor of PhiladelphiaEagles.com

"When the Eagles hired Chip Kelly in January of 2013, it seemed like half of the NFL was looking for a new coach. There were actually a total of eight teams that made coaching changes that year. Let’s take a look at some of the coaches and see how they have done.Kelly has compiled a record of 20-12. The only coach from the Class of 2013 with a better record is Bruce Arians of Arizona. He went 10-6 and 11-5 in his two years out there, giving him a record of 21-11. Neither Kelly nor Arians has yet to win a playoff game. The Cardinals under Arians remind me of the Eagles under Ray Rhodes. They are tough and scrappy and they find a way to win. I just don’t know if you can sustain success like that. You can only get players to overachieve for so long. At some point, you need them to play well on a consistent basis. Arizona had a terrific defense in 2013. They gave up a lot of yards last year, but remained tough to score against. Unfortunately, defensive coordinator Todd Bowles is now the head coach of the New York Jets. Arians hired James Bettcher to replace Bowles and run the defense. Winning double-digit games for the third year in a row could be a big challenge for Arians."

Philadelphia Eagles fan base ranked 11th in the NFLBrandon Lee Gowton of BleedingGreenNation.com

"Philadelphia Eagles fans, you might be disappointed to hear you are not the best fans in the NFL. But you might be able to take solace in the fact that you’re still above average. At least that’s what a study posted by Emory University suggests. They’ve gone through the task of ranking every NFL fan base using a method that involves several factors."

Which player on the Eagles’ roster is in Chip Kelly’s ‘doghouse?’Jimmy Kempski of PhillyVoice.com

"I was asked during one of my weekly Eagles chats here at PhillyVoice if there are any players on the roster who are in Chip Kelly’s “doghouse.” That answer is easy — Based on Kelly’s quotes, it’s clearly safety Earl Wolff. Kelly’s frustrations with Wolff stem from Wolff’s inability to stay on the practice and playing fields, fair or not. Below are all the times Kelly talked about Wolff in the past year, dating back to August. In press conferences, Kelly will typically find something positive to say about a player, and the best he could occasionally muster about Wolff was that he was “OK.” There’s almost nothing positive at all about Wolff below, and the quotes get progressively worse."

The dramatic fall of the Tebow brand – Mike Sielski of Philly.com

"This is not a column about Tim Tebow and the Eagles, really. This is not about whether he’ll beat out Matt Barkley for the No. 3 quarterback spot or whether Chip Kelly will use him in short-yardage or special-teams situations or whether his throwing motion is quicker and tighter and no longer resembles Sandy Koufax working out of the stretch. This is not a column about the minutia of football we tend to focus on when we focus on the Eagles. Feel free to stop reading. No one will be offended."

We’ve heard talks about some of the Eagles players working out together in San Diego but here’s photographic evidence of a large group including Ryan Mathews, Darren Sproles, Seyi Ajirotutu, Quron Pratt, G.J. Kinne, Zach Ertz, Jordan Matthews, Mark Sanchez, Andrew Gleichert, Rasheed Bailey and Matt Barkley. 11 total Eagles, all working out together in the offseason, that’s awesome!
