Joshua Garnett

One of the Eagles’ biggest needs in the offseason is a guard. Neither Allen Barbre or Andrew Gardner, the team’s starting guards in 2015, were cut out for the extended amount of playing time and the offense paid for it, so a guy like Garnett could be on the Eagles’ radar.

Garnett is not a guy projected to go in the first round of the draft, which is why he could be a more realistic option for the Eagles. Sam Bradford may not be back in Philadelphia next season, so it’s very possible the Eagles could go quarterback in the first round (maybe Paxton Lynch?). If that’s the case, then I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Eagles give Garnett a look.

Garnett is a big, powerful guard and is a force as a run blocker, as displayed in the Vine below (Brian Floyd).

Garnett needs some work with pass blocking, but if he shows improved footwork at the Combine and makes it a mission to become more technically sound, then he could be a diamond in the rough.
