The New York Giants

The Eagles were considered by many to be on the cusp of being a real threat. The young receiving corps would show flashes of excellence, and so would Sam Bradford. Unfortunately, for both, it was only flashes. DeMarco Murray was removed from the running game (if that’s what you want to call it). The inconsistencies could have been chalked up to one of two things: Bradford isn’t really that good, and the receivers were just lousy at catching. You can go back and forth about what the reason was; but in the end, Philadelphia decided that Bradford may not be the answer.

With that being said, the Giants knew they were going to have to fill some holes on defense. However, many reports seemed to indicate they were very much in love with Giant-sized offensive lineman, Ronnie Stanley. Did the New York Giants reach too soon on young CB Eli Apple? Should they have been focusing on the Eli they already had? Am I going to hear your answers at all? Nope. Which Means, I get to continue this rant.

For all intents-and-purposes, the Giants’ window for claiming another Super Bowl title is closing. At least with Eli Manning at the helm. Say what you want about the Giants quarterback, but he has been good for that organization and could find his way into the Hall of Fame…eventually. The Giants should have focused on making sure they get as much time out of Manning as they can. Instead, with the Eagles shifting their focus on beefing up their offense, New York scrambled to get one of the top corners off of the board. The Giants would go on to spend three more of their picks focusing on defense. Sure, maybe New York was attempting to stay balanced, but while Eli gets older, the Eagles just got younger.
