With that being said, most would admit to being guilty of combing the web for NFL content. If so, hopefully you ran across an article entitled Lawlor: Don’t Sleep On This Position Group, a brilliant piece by Tommy Lawlor that was published on Philadelphiaeagles.com.

Lawlor focuses on a position group that hasn’t received a lot of attention other than a few mentions, here and there, of Jordan Hicks. Hicks deserves it. In 2015, he exploded on the scene and turned heads while showing potential throughout a promising rookie season that was, unfortunately, ended due to injury. With that being said, let’s focus on the linebackers for a second. We’ve already mentioned Hicks who will take over starting duties at the middle linebacker position. That leaves, both, the inside and outside position. It’s safe to assume that Mychal Kendricks will continue to start on the weak side. He’s a four year starter and has been solid since the Eagles selected him with the 46th overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. 2015 was an up and down season, but it never seemed like he adjusted to the 3-4 scheme or the unusual rotation.
The Eagles will enter training camp with nine linebackers on the roster. In addition to both Kendricks and Hicks, the Eagles have added Nigel Bradham. His best season in the NFL was in 2014 where he had 104 tackles and two and a half sacks. He’s reunited with defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz and should already be familiar with what what’s expected of him. Based on the investment, he’s not only expected to start, he’s expected to duplicate what we saw from him in 2014.
As stated by Lawlor, Bradham will have to adjust to the pressure of playing in Philadelphia for one of the most rabid fanbases in the history of sports. If he can do that and understand the type of media he’s dealing with, he should be fine.

If Kendricks, Bradham and Hicks can gel, they’ll have plenty of opportunities to make plays. If they can get help from one or two more of the other guys on the roster, this could be one of the best and most productive linebacker groups the Eagles have seen in a very long time.
