Dave Spadaro stopped by to visit with Angelo Cataldi and the Morning Team on 94 WIP-FM and provided his usual entertaining brand of interview.

Anyone who’s a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles or a citizen of Philadelphia probably doesn’t need to be told who Angelo Cataldi or Dave Spadaro are. For those who don’t recognize either name, Cataldi serves as the host of The Morning Show on 94 WIP-FM and has been with the station since 1990. Spadaro’s name, to just about every Eagles fan, is almost synonymous with the team’s official website, Philadelphiaeagles.comHe’s also the creator and host of the Eagles Live Podcast which can be found on the website and on Itunes.

To state that both have an affinity for the Eagles may be the understatement of the year (Spadaro once videotaped himself spitting on the star in the Dallas Cowboys‘ stadium twice). What can be said is both have an inside knowledge about this team that is invaluable. To hear both of them on air simultaneously can lead to some pretty valuable information.

Most fans of the Eagles consider this to be a rebuilding year. Cataldi disagrees. These past few weeks, he’s expressed his desire and his belief that this team could do well in 2016. That’s typically been met with disagreement recently by fans and guests. When interviewing Spadaro this morning, the Philadelphia media guru, surprisingly, agreed.

“The Eagles are building something that is sustainable” stated Spadaro. Much of his brief interview was dedicated to the facts we were already aware of. Yes, the offensive line is better. Yes, the Eagles have locked up much of their core players to long-term deals. No, we don’t know what to expect on defense, but future NFL Hall of Fame inductee Brian Dawkins is back in an administrative role which means the Eagles have a desire to bring former Eagles who care about this team back into the fold.

The Eagles may not have explosive weapons on offense, but they do have an ability to win with match-ups rather than scheme. Picture Darren Sproles lined up on a linebacker or Zach Ertz and what the possibilities are if he found himself in the opposing team’s secondary and matched up on a safety.

Then there’s Sam Bradford. According to Spadaro, Bradford isn’t the same guy this year as he was last year. He’s different on the field, in the meeting rooms and in the hallway. Keep in mind, his talent allowed many to believe he should have been the first pick in the NFL Draft in 2010. The system he’s currently in allows him the right to check out of bad plays at the line and is also one that is more conducive to his talents.

To Spadaro’s point, if the Eagles can limit turnovers and score touchdowns in the red zone, things may not be as bad as some of us have been led to believe.
