LeGarrette Blount seems pretty happy to be on Carson Wentz’s team.

Second-year Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz may only have one year of professional experience under his belt, but players around the league certainly seem to be taking notice of his potential. Not only did Wentz play a major role in Alshon Jeffery‘s decision to sign with the Eagles, but newly acquired running back LeGarrette Blount seems to be pretty excited about playing with him as well.

During a press conference Thursday, Blount gave Wentz a glowing review and voiced his approval of the product the Eagles are building.

"He’s a really talented player. Obviously, he’s one of the better quarterbacks of his draft class and generation. I think he has the potential to be a really special player. He has all the tools that are needed and all the grind that is needed and he has the mindset to maximize his ability if he just continues to work hard."

One of the better quarterbacks of his generation, eh? That’s an awfully nice compliment.

Wentz had himself quite an impressive rookie campaign last season. He set an NFL record for most pass completions by a rookie and fell just 134 yards short of Donovan McNabb‘s single-season passing record. Considering the lack of weaponry Wentz had to work with last year, that’s quite an impressive feat.

This year, however, Wentz has a pretty formidable supporting cast. Not only does he have two terrific starting receivers in Alshon Jeffery and Torrey Smith, but he also has a big, bruising running back in Blount to help take the load off.

Blount is coming off the best season of his career. He rushed for 1,161 yards and 18 touchdowns in 2016 and played a major role in the New England Patriots‘ Super Bowl-winning season.

Oh, and he also outweighs every linebacker on the Eagles’ roster, which is, um, pretty crazy. It’ll be fun watching Blount and Wentz play together.
