Chip Kelly found himself a job.

Beloved former Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly has been unemployed for the last several months, but he’s finally found a new job!

Just not as a coach.

Kelly has reportedly signed with ESPN as a college football analyst, which is the most Chip Kelly job one can possibly imagine.

From 2009 to 2012, Kelly was one of the most influential coaches in all of college football. His innovative uptempo offense with the Oregon Ducks was a cutting-edge tactic that clearly worked against his competitors.

After going 46-7 in four years at Oregon, Kelly made the leap to the NFL as the Eagles’ successor to Andy Reid, which, um, didn’t go too hot.

In his first season in Philadelphia, Kelly actually took the Eagles to the playoffs for the first time since 2010. However, they would lose in the first round to the New Orleans Saints.

Sad.

From that point forward, things started to get weird. Kelly was suddenly given personnel responsibilities over Howie Roseman, which turned out to be a horrific experiment. He began making horrible trades (LeSean McCoy for Kiko Alonso), horrible signings (DeMarco Murray, Miles Austin) and even started cutting his best players for basically no reason at all (DeSean Jackson, Todd Herremans).

Oh, and he also may or may not be racist to a slight degree, which isn’t a great quality to have for a head football coach.

In his last two seasons with the Eagles, Kelly went 16-15 and clearly wore out his welcome with Jeffrey Lurie and company. Towards the end of his tenure in Philly, basically no one wanted anything to do with him anymore, resulting in his firing a week prior to the Eagles’ 2015 season finale.

That wasn’t the end of Kelly in the NFL, though. The San Francisco 49ers made the ill-advised decision of hiring Kelly as their head coach last season, which resulted in a 2-14 campaign in 2016. Kelly was immediately fired by the Niners after the season, which leads us to where we are now—a world where Chip Kelly will once again be invading our television screens.

This time, though, he’ll be spewing his horrible opinions at us, which should make for a good chuckle or two.
