Once a top 10 prospect, Sidney Jones got drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the second round due to an injury.

Sidney Jones met with the media on Friday at the Eagles rookie camp. After listening to him it is not too clear whether he’ll play a snap in 2017.

What is clear, though, is that he will come back stronger than ever. Before March, he was a clear-cut first-rounder. Unfortunately, Jones injured his Achilles during his pro day in March. After the injury, his stock took a hit and he fell to the Eagles in the second round.

Jones recently met with the media and made it clear this injury was going be taken slow and steady. The fans were assured that this process is not going to be rushed. After a severe injury like this, there is always a possibility to re-injure that Achilles.

Throughout his interview Jones talked out how it will be hard to watch from the sideline, but it’s something he has to work through. He also talked about how he will try to improve other aspects of the game. Jones said he will work on film study and continue working out among other things while being off the field. He is planning on continuing his rehab in Seattle and come back to Philly some time in June.

The Eagles might have found their cornerback for the future, but they cannot rush the kid onto the field. Jones must also understand if he comes back too soon he can jeopardize his career. Especially in a division with Dez Bryant, Odell Beckham Jr. and newly added Terrelle Pryor, the Eagles will need a healthy Jones. So the Eagles may have to take a few notes from the Sixers on how to “Trust the Process.”
