Mike Weber is a young back that is looking to leave behind his own legacy at Ohio State.

Mike Weber may not be one of the running backs you think of when comparing the nation’s elite, but he very well should be. Though he has only one year of starting experience under his belt, Weber has the skills that NFL teams covet, and has plenty of room to grow as a running back. With the 2017 NCAA football season quickly approaching, Weber is a back that makes sense to monitor, as he has “breakout” written all over him.

More from Inside the Iggles

In Weber’s lone season as a starter, he ran 182 times for 1,096 rushing yards (six yards per carry) and nine touchdowns. Weber added another 23 receptions for 91 yards, showing off his possible passing game chops. In 2016, Weber ran for over 100 yards on four different occasions, and ran for at least 70 rushing yards or a touch down in eleven of Ohio State’s thirteen games. After a great 2016, Weber was named Big 10 Freshman of the Year, and a freshman All-American.

Only time will tell if Weber can to step out of Ezekiel Elliotte‘s shadow and leave behind a legacy of his own with the Buckeyes. Let’s see exactly what Weber has to offer, and how he might fit in best with the Philadelphia Eagles offense.
