ESPN’s Adam Schefter joined 97.5 The Fanatic on Wednesday morning to talk some Eagles football.

We are now officially halfway through the NFL preseason. In just a few weeks, the regular season will kick off and the Philadelphia Eagles will get to fully showcase what they have improved on during the off-season. Some may have considered this season a rebuilding year for the Eagles. Others are actually thinking playoffs.

ESPN’s NFL Insider, Adam Schefter joined 97.5 The Fanatic sports radio on Wednesday to talk about the Eagles. Although Schefter clearly has to be unbiased, he’s never held back when discussing the Eagles. Similar to many other analysts, Schefter believes the NFC East division is open to anyone. The hosts asked how he thinks the Eagles will do, and you might like his response.

Schefter’s statement:

The rest of the division isn’t going to like that. After coming off of a 7-9 record and finishing in last place in the NFC East, the Eagles aren’t considered to be the favorites by anyone. Is Schefter crazy for thinking that the Eagles have a chance at another divisional crown? Absolutely not!

So much has changed over the last few months, and plenty of things can happen. The Washington Redskins have lost some key offensive players who were trouble for the Eagles defense. The Dallas Cowboys have multiple pending suspensions, one of them being for their star running back. The New York Giants have had a solid off-season, but they haven’t seemed to have the Eagles number in recent years.

The Eagles have been praised by multiple sports platforms and radio shows for having one of the most impressive off-seasons this year. Obviously, it’s hard to get excited about how things look on paper. It’s also difficult to believe that the Eagles won’t be contenders in the division.

As long as Doug Pederson shows improvement in his play calling and the players stay healthy, anything can happen in the NFC East, and the Eagles could legitimately win the division title.
