Eagles linebacker Jordan Hicks may be listed as questionable, but he intends on playing this Sunday.

The Philadelphia Eagles have officially released the injury report for this weeks matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. Although he is listed as questionable, middle linebacker Jordan Hicks fully intends on suiting up this weekend.

He suffered an ankle injury in last week’s last-second win against the New York Giants. Although he missed a lot of time last Sunday, the injury was not significant enough to keep him out of practice this week. When Eagles head coach Doug Pederson told the media that Hicks would be “day-to-day”, he didn’t expect to see him in practice on Wednesday. Not even a couple hours later, Hicks was fully suited up and ready to go.

It is hard to tell that the Eagles have been facing defensive struggles. They have been playing fairly well despite missing some key pieces up front and in the secondary. When Hicks was missing for all of the second half, outside linebacker’s Mychal Kendricks and Nigel Bradham really stepped up to the challenge.

Although the Eagles could survive without him, the presence of Hicks on the field this Sunday will be a major plus. His leadership and intensity bring a whole different vibe on the defensive side of the ball. Not to mention the Eagles are already lacking in linebacker depth with Hicks on the field.

There is no telling if Hicks will get his normal percentage of snaps or not, but the chances of him getting plenty of playing time is highly likely. Since the Eagles secondary has been thin, they have been very cautious with their pass defense. Hicks, being one of the best cover linebackers in the game, makes things a little bit harder for offenses in the passing game. That is something the Eagles will definitley need on Sunday.
