Philadelphia Eagles roundup: Defensive tackle, Corey Graham
The Philadelphia Eagles continue to deal with injuries, and this time, it’s at the defensive tackle position.
In week four, the Philadelphia Eagles had to do battle without their star defensive tackle, Fletcher Cox. That’s the first time that’s happened since they drafted him with the 12th-overall selection of the 2012 NFL Draft. They made it work though. His replacement, Beau Allen, who we thought would be out longer, made the sixth start of his NFL career.
Again, the Eagles appeared to fall apart in the fourth quarter of an important game. That’s the second week in a row that’s happened. Maybe it was fatigue kicking in. Maybe the young guys lack experience. Whatever the reason, there were issues. In spite of it all, the Eagles held on, and their fans who made their way to the StubHub Center helped will them to a victory, their second road win in three attempts so far this season.

Everyone wants to know what’s up with Cox, so we’ll start there. He’s listed as “day-to-day”, and at this point, no one knows if he’ll play on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals. He didn’t practice on Wednesday. If he can’t go, Philly will, again, rely on Allen, rookie Elijah Qualls, newly-signed Justin Hamilton and, hopefully, Timmy Jernigan.
Wednesday’s practice was also void of Jernigan. He has a heel injury, but at this point, it doesn’t appear that it will keep him out of the week five game.
Destiny Vaeao still isn’t ready to go. He hasn’t seen any on-field action since week one and is still nursing a wrist injury.

There is some good news however. There may be some help on the way for that banged up secondary. In week four, the Eagles saw one of their starters, Rodney McLeod, return from injury. In week five, there’s a good chance Jaylen Watkins and Corey Graham return as well. Both have missed the last two games due to hamstring injuries. Both practiced on Wednesday despite being limited.
