Philadelphia Eagles vs Washington Redskins: Josh Norman won’t play
Add Josh Norman to the list of key inactives for Monday night’s game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Redskins.
Make that two weeks in a row that the Washington Redskins will take the field without cornerback Josh Norman. Their best cover guy has been nursing fractured ribs, and though he participated in team practices this week, it’s been decided that the best course of action is to hold him out against the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football.
Seeing him on the field for Redskins practice sessions on Thursday and Friday led some to believe he might play. He’d miss Saturday practice, and his coach, Jay Gruden, didn’t offer any good news to the Redskins faithful when he revealed that same day that team doctors still hadn’t cleared him medically.
What about that guy on the other side?

Fellow starter Bashaud Breeland has dealt with some nicks and bruises as well. He’s sprained his MCL, and though he hasn’t officially been ruled out yet, Washington is in danger of trotting out two reserves to hold down the cornerback position when this one kicks off.
Breeland, unlike Norman, practiced on Saturday. He claims to have felt okay, and his coach liked what he saw from him. Still, we won’t have an official word on him until the after the Redskins complete a final walk through on Sunday.
If Breeland, indeed, can’t go. The Redskins will look to third-year veteran Quinton Dunbar and rookie Fabian Moreau to fill in as the starters on the outside. That means second-year veteran Kendall Fuller will be playing the slot corner role.

Other injured Redskins include left tackle Trent Williams. He’s been dealing with knee issues. Running back Rob Kelley has a problem with an ankle, and linebacker Mason Foster is attempting to heal from problems he’s been having with a shoulder.
All three of those guys are starters and are listed as questionable for Monday.
