Jason Peters may have left the game yesterday, but his leadership still had an impact.

The Philadelphia Eagles came away with a big win on Monday night against the Washington Redskins. Unfortunately, they struggled to stay completely healthy. They had multiple big names leave the game, one of them being superstar left tackle, Jason Peters. The 14-year veteran was carted off the field with a knee injury after a defender fell onto him while making a block.

The entire crowd at the Lincoln Financial Field went silent as Peters laid in pain. They knew that the loss of Peters would be a major factor on Monday. After the cart came onto the field, everyone suspected his future would be in question as well. Peters was taken to the locker room, ending his night at left tackle.

Tips to Vaitai:

Although Peters knew his night was done for the final minutes he was down on the field, he made sure to send a message. The Eagles backup tackle Halapoulivaati Vaitai told Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia on Monday night that Peters gave him some advice before he was taken to the locker room.

Peters told the second-year tackle to just keep his composure and calm down. Vaitai said that the fact that Peters believed in him really helped him relax. His encouraging words meant a lot for Vaitai. The leadership of Peters makes him one of the most respected Eagles within the organization over the last eight years or so.

Vaitai went on to complete the game as motivated as possible. He took in Peters encouraging words and ran with it. After it was announced that Peters would be out for the remainder of the season on Tuesday, Vaitai will gear up to start for the eighth start of his career.

Although Peters will be out for the season, there is no question whether he will continue to be a leader or not. It is highly-likely that he will be offering advice and tips throughout the season to his fellow lineman just like he did when he was being carted off. As long as Peters is on the Eagles, he will continue to leave an impact no matter what.
