Carson Wentz was named NFC offensive player of the week after his big performance on MNF.

It has been an impressive season, to say the least for Philadelphia Eagles quarterback, Carson Wentz. Over the past three games, Wentz aired the ball out for 794 yards, 11 touchdowns, and only two interceptions. Within the last two weeks, he has been honored as a two-time, consecutive Fed Ex Air Player of the week. Now after his week seven victory, Wentz is named the NFC offensive player of the week.

At this point of the season, the NFL and its fans are well aware that Wentz is the real deal. His MVP stock has skyrocketed as the Eagles just continue to win. Wentz continues to prove his draft day doubters wrong. His recent success this season is constantly reminding teams that wouldn’t draft him with the second overall pick that they would regret that. (Looking at you, Cleveland).

If Wentz’ rookie season wasn’t enough to convince the Eagles fan base that he was a true franchise leader, then his performance Monday night should’ve sealed the deal. He completed 17 passes for 268 yards and four touchdowns under the spotlight on Monday Night Football. He also did a lot of work on the ground as well, rushing eight times for 63 yards, which lead the team in rushing.

Playing for rings, not awards…

As Wentz continues to rack up weekly awards, his goal since landing in Philadelphia has remained the same. Wentz wants to win a Super Bowl in Philly. He told his fellow teammate Alshon Jeffery that an MVP award does not concern him. He would rather have a championship for his team, rather than individual success.

Wentz may be working for just a Lombardi trophy, but his hard work hasn’t and will not go unnoticed. Whether he likes it or not, this guy may end up being voted the leagues most valuable player when this season is finished.

As the Eagles season continues on, Wentz has another favorable matchup this week against the winless San Francisco 49ers. With the Eagles being the hottest team in the NFL, they are going to be expected to win this one with no problems.  As expected, the Eagles will most likely take this game as seriously as the previous one. They are well aware that they are the team to beat and a loss at home against a team in last place could kill the team’s momentum. As long as everything clicks, expect Wentz to have another rewarding week.
