MVP – Quarterback Carson Wentz

This one shouldn’t come as a surprise. The second-year quarterback is, without a doubt, the most valuable player on this team. He may even be in the discussion for the most valuable player in the entire league this season. Without Wentz, the Eagles wouldn’t be where they are today.

The jump Wentz made in his sophomore year has been, simply, incredible. He looks like a completely different quarterback than he was in his rookie campaign in 2016. His footwork, pocket presence, and vision have improved drastically. You have to give credit to Doug Pederson and the Eagles coaching staff.

Although Wentz has improved, he isn’t exactly a finished product just yet, and it shows at times. He still, sometimes, struggles with accuracy, and he floats passes, particularly deep throws. Wentz also, sometimes, may hold onto the ball too long, trying to make something out of nothing, which, sometimes, leads to him taking a sack.

Now, this may not be a bad thing all of the time as Wentz has shown his big play ability when plays are broken. Still, you don’t really want your franchise quarterback taking too many unnecessary hits. Wentz has already surpassed his touchdown total from last year (16). He already has 19 this season (Tied for 1st in the league), with only 5 interceptions thrown.
