The Minnesota Vikings have officially supplanted the Philadelphia Eagles as the number one team in the NFC, but Eagles fans shouldn’t worry.

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to life in the NFL. One minute, you’re on the top of the world and most power rankings, and a Week 13 win gives you the NFC East crown. The next, what seemed like a win turns ugly, and you fall to second in the conference with four games to go. Yes, the Philadelphia Eagles, at 10-2, are looking up at the Minnesota Vikings, but their fans shouldn’t worry too much.

Their team is still in great shape.

Here’s the silver lining in a Week 13 dark cloud.

Let’s get a few things straight. The Eagles will win the NFC East. They’ll make the playoffs. They’ll be good for a long time. Their quarterback, Carson Wentz, will continue to play at an elite level.

In spite of the loss, they should still be seen as one of the best teams in the NFL. They went on the road, and they lost a tough game to a very good team who also fields one of the best signal callers in the league.

We found out they’re human. There’s no shame in any of that. Sometimes, you learn more in a loss than you learn in a win anyway.

As Eagles fans, attention now turns to Week 14, and their game against the Los Angeles Rams will have huge implications. you have to hope the Vikings stumble somewhere. Who knows? Could they be looking at a few hiccups with both the Carolina Panthers and the Green Bay Packers (who might get Aaron Rodgers back) still remaining on the schedule? If not, they may fall into a scenario where two home wins in the playoffs could land them in football’s biggest game. That, too, would be a game they play at home.
