The Philadelphia Eagles were humbled by the Seattle Seahawks in Week 13. Despite the loss, the next important step for the team is to move on and forget about it.

Last Sunday night turned into Sunday fright for the Philadelphia Eagles, as they were bested by a desperate Seattle Seahawks team. The Eagles were defeated by a final score of 24-10, dropping the team to a 10-2 record and out of the number one seed in the NFC.

Frustration levels were high during the game. Questionable coaching decisions and foolish mistakes would ultimately lead the Eagles to their downfall. Not to take away any credit from the Seattle Seahawks though, as they obviously played like the better team. Blaming the officiating isn’t really a fair argument either, but they certainly didn’t help the Eagles out at all.

Whether it was Carson Wentz’s fumble at the goal line, Doug Pederson’s decision to not challenge Russell Wilson’s forward lateral, or the defense not being able to contain Wilson in general, the Eagles were all out of sync. The team just did not seem like themselves last Sunday Night.

Overreactions were flowing heavily after the game, declaring the team as “frauds” or “not fit for the playoffs”. However, fans should hold off on hitting the panic button already, as this is still a  10-2 team with loads of potential. Sometimes teams have hiccups down the road and this was just one of those nights.

On to Los Angeles…

Now if the Eagles continue to lose and completely fall apart, then there will be some cause for concern. Until then, the team needs to regroup this week as they head to war with another dangerous NFC West opponent.

The Eagles will be staying on the West Coast this week to prepare to take on the Los Angeles Rams. This game is filled with story-lines and will have a big impact on the entire NFC. If there was ever a good time for the Eagles to get a statement win, this would be the time.

The biggest story-line for this match-up is undoubtedly Carson Wentz versus Jared Goff. The former number one and two overall picks in the 2016 NFL draft face off with each other for the first time in their careers. Both quarterbacks have drastically improved from their rookie campaigns, and are leading their respected teams to a potential playoff berth. It should be one of the more interesting match-ups to keep your eye on this week.

This game will also have a major impact on playoff implications. The Eagles have another chance to claim the NFC East title this week with a victory or a Dallas Cowboys loss. The race for the number one seed will also be in play as the Eagles will try to keep up with the Minnesota Vikings for the top spot in the conference.
