The Philadelphia Eagles all-time leading rusher eclipsed a new milestone recently.

For some Philadelphia Eagles fans, the sight of LeSean McCoy in a Buffalo Bills uniform is a sight they never could get used to. At this point, you’re probably sick of hearing about that. You’re probably sick of hearing about the three-year era of a head coach that shipped off some of your favorite Eagles players from what’s now become a band of guys who never reached their full potential in an Eagles jersey.

No matter how you feel about that time, one thing’s certain. Those guys (McCoy, DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin) will always feel like they’re a part of the family. That will be true regardless of where they are.

‘We remember ‘Shady ‘ in an Eagles uniform.

More from Inside the Iggles

If you caught some of the Bills game last week, you saw McCoy, or ‘Shady’ as he’s affectionately known, create some pretty magical moments in the middle of a blizzard. If you’re an Eagles fan that’s been around for a while, it makes you think of a magical day that ‘Shady’ had in Week 14 of the 2013 season, a game where he carved up the Detroit Lions for 217 yards and two touchdowns.

That’s still an Eagles single-game rushing record, and he did it in eight inches of snow.

McCoy reaches another milestone.

McCoy isn’t just the owner of that record. He’s also the team’s all-time leading rusher with 6,792 yards and the owner of the team’s record for rushing touchdowns with 44. Sure, it would have been nice to see him reach the 10,000 yard plateau with the Eagles, but to be honest, if McCoy would have remained in an Eagles jersey forever, there may have never been the opportunity to add LeGarrette Blount or Jay Ajayi later.

To be honest, we may have never seen Darren Sproles in an Eagles jersey either.

When you think about it in that fashion, maybe things worked out as they should. Sure McCoy’s departure may have been premature, but no fan of the Eagles will ever forget what he did for the franchise.

We, at ITI, congratulate ‘Shady’ for reaching this plateau.
