Philadelphia Eagles will face a Raiders team minus LT Donald Penn
The Philadelphia Eagles will face an Oakland Raiders team that’s missing a very important cog on Monday Night Football. All-Pro left tackle Donald Penn is out for the season.
Injuries suck. Period. No one wants to see anyone hurt, but as true as that may be, injuries are a part of the game. The Oakland Raiders can relate to what’s gone on with the Philadelphia Eagles over the course of the 2017 season. The Eagles have lost their starting quarterback, their starting middle linebacker and their starting left tackle, Jason Peters, during the course of the 2017 season.
Last season, the Raiders, with Super Bowl aspirations of their own, lost their starting quarterback, Derek Carr. This past Sunday night, they were holding on to some very slim playoff hopes. They’d lose that game to the Dallas Cowboys. Then, we learned they also lost their All-Pro left tackle Donald Penn for the remainder of the season due to a foot injury.
Another great NFL streak ends.

Penn’s absence on Monday Night Football will mean one of the most durable offensive linemen will miss his first game in 174 Raiders outings. Of those 174 games, Penn has been a starter in 170.
Penn’s apparently damaged several ligaments in his foot, and he’ll undergo season-ending surgery on December 20th. Marshall Newhouse took over following Penn’s injury on Sunday Night Football. The Raiders also have Guard-tackle Vadal Alexander and rookie rookie tackle David Sharpe. As unfortunate as this injury is, it may help the Eagles pass rush in making some plays.
