The Philadelphia Eagles get dissed again by the national media, but they should be used to that by now.

We’re less than one week away from the NFC Championship game, and it’s been the same old story if you’re a Philadelphia Eagles fan. Your team is being shown no love. They’re underdogs, and now, a national publication is chiming in.

The Eagles should have plenty of bulletin board material for the remainder of the week.

Philly comes in fourth out of four teams.

For teams remain, and NFL.com released another power ranking. Of the four teams that will compete on Championship Sunday, the Eagles are ranked fourth.

Here’s some of what was said.

"After hearing for a week that they were the first home underdog yada yada yada in however many years, the Eagles’ defense crushed it. What a performance, from the coverage, to the push from the interior ( Hi, I’m Fletcher Cox. I’m better than your offensive linemen), to tightening up when it mattered most. Twitter movie critics can comment all day long about the Falcons’ play-calling, but here’s the deal with that: If you don’t like the roll-out on fourth-and-the-game,perhaps you can also credit Philadelphia for blanketing Matt Ryan’s options"

So what’s the point?

Here’s what we know. There shouldn’t be any difficulty in creating some bulletin board material this week.

As mentioned, four teams remain, and two championship games are left to be played. On the NFC’s side a dome team will attempt to go on the road and win in an outdoor stadium, something history has taught us doesn’t happen much in professional football.

The Eagles stopped the Minnesota Vikings’ undefeated streak just last season at Lincoln Financial Field. That’s been forgotten about as NFL fans only seen to remember what they saw a week ago.

Based on what everyone is saying, if Philly wins, they will have defied logic and the odds again. Hey. Why should the NFC Championship Game be different than any other?
