Has the Philadelphia Eagles’ most recent NFC Championship Game win brought back any memories for you?

If the Philadelphia Eagles‘ path to Super Bowl LII reminds you of the last time this team made a championship run, that’s because, in both instances, there were a lot of the same ingredients. The ‘underdog’ Eagles punched their ticket to Minneapolis, Minnesota thanks to a 31-point win over the Minnesota Vikings.

‘The City of Brotherly Love’ hasn’t calmed down at all since that happened.

Has this Super Bowl run reminded you of the last one?

Prior to the Eagles win in the NFC Championship Game, they disposed of last season’s NFC Champion, the Atlanta Falcons. The Eagles, underdogs in both games, used what they felt was disrespect as fuel.

You can’t discount the importance of home field advantage though, especially in the playoffs, and the Eagles rode both emotion and the energy they fed off of in the friendly confines of Lincoln Financial Field to earn themselves another crack at a Lombardi Trophy.

To earn that trophy, they’ll have to upend Tom Brady, Bill Belichick and the rest of the New England Patriots.

Earning a trip to the Super Bowl last time meant the Eagles needed to vanquish the Vikings, then the Falcons to find their way to the Patriots. This time, they took care of Atlanta first. Then, they embarrassed the Vikings. If you’re an Eagles fan, you’ll want to hope that the result in the Super Bowl, this time, is different.

Here’s one more thing of note, in each of the Eagles three Super Bowl runs, they had to get past the Vikings along the way.

New England awaits. Maybe this time, the Patriots won’t get their hands on any footage of the final walk through. Oops. Did we say that? We apologize.
