Let’s take a moment and analyze some of the 2018 draft prospects who have already visited the Philadelphia Eagles at the Novacare Complex.

Expect the Philadelphia Eagles to host a lot of talent at the Novacare Complex prior to the 2018 NFL Draft. Pre-draft visits are one of those things every fan knows about. They’re also one of those things that are clouded in mystery. In some ways, a future NFL star visiting a franchise on one of those pre-draft visits is kind of like a distant cousin of the recruiting trip in college football.

There are no cameras, and none of us are certain about what happens at either one. There is, however, one obvious difference. The prospect holds all of the cards in college. He’ll, ultimately, decide where he wants to go. In the NFL, the Eagles and the other 31 franchises make their selection, and the selected player goes where he’s selected.

Each NFL franchise is allotted 30 pre-draft visits. With that being said, we can look at each one as an indicator of who Philly has a serious interest in.

The NFL Draft is approaching.

More from Inside the Iggles

As of 11:15 AM on Monday, April 2nd, the Eagles have already hosted or have scheduled a visit with six players on offense and seven on defense. One running back has stopped by, Derrius Guice of the LSU Tigers. Another is scheduled, Rashaad Penny of the San Diego State Aztecs. The latter is a former teammate of current Eagles running back and the NCAA Division I FBS’ all-time leader in rushing yards, Donnel Pumphrey.

Then, there’s wide receiver Daurice Fountain, a wide receiver out of Northern Iowa. He’s scheduled to visit the Eagles and a few other teams. Chukwuma Okorafor, an offensive tackle out of Western Michigan is also scheduled to visit the Novacare Complex, and so is former Miami Hurricanes tight end Chris Herndon.

Here’s more of what we already know.

We’ve recently learned that we can add cornerback Tremon Smith of Central Arkansas, former Iowa Hawkeyes center James Daniels, and linebacker Darius Leonard, formerly of the South Carolina State Bulldogs to the list of players we currently know are scheduled for official visits. Don’t forget about former Maryland Terrapins linebacker Jermaine Carter. The same can be said for former Stanford Cardinal safety Justin Reid and former UCF cornerback Mike Hughes.

The Eagles, reportedly, have already seen Guice’s former teammate, cornerback Donte Jackson. They also spent some time with former Boise State Broncos linebacker Leighton Vander Esch.

The draft is approaching, and we’ll all be watching these visits and future visits as they are scheduled and they occur.
