Joe Ostman, DE

Joe Ostman is a six-foot-three-inch defensive end out of Central Michigan. The edge rusher is finally joining the NFL after spending not four, but five seasons in the NCAA. Back in 2015, Ostman ended up suffering an ankle injury that forced him to become a rare case of a redshirt junior. Despite losing hope in his junior season, he bounced back tremendously over the next two seasons netting 129 tackles, and 21 sacks.

Contributing to the stat sheets hasn’t been a problem for Ostman in college. An injury prone tag and an unfavorable look to his size are what made some NFL front offices uncomfortable with spending a draft pick on him. No sweat though for the Eagles who signed Ostman shortly after the draft wrapped up.

It will be difficult for Ostman to make the final 53-man roster for the Eagles this season. With an already stacked defensive line, it will be tough to fit an undrafted free agent onto the depth chart. However, that doesn’t mean that Ostman will be just a camp body for the Eagles. After 2018 is wrapped up, we can expect to see a few pass rushers exit the building, opening up a major opportunity for Ostman to compete for a spot in the rotation.
