Terrence West paid a visit to the Philadelphia Eagles on Tuesday
Former Baltimore Ravens veteran running back Terrance West took a visit with the Philadelphia Eagles.
The back end of free agency seems like a goldmine for Philadelphia Eagles general manager, Howie Roseman. After signing veteran quarterback Joe Callahan yesterday, he continues to pile up visits for established players. Recently, Roseman and the Eagles staff brought in former Baltimore Ravens running back, Terrance West for a visit.
No deal is in place as of now, but even a visit seems puzzling. The Eagles recently signed not one, but two running backs in the past week or so. One being veteran running back/specialist, Darren Sproles. The other being the undrafted rookie out of Notre Dame, Josh Adams. Well, it looks like the Eagles are still looking to pack on the depth in the backfield, for now.
Why, Howie?
If you can remember, the Eagles had a similar situation going on last season. While they had Sproles, Wendell Smallwood, Corey Clement, and Donnel Pumphrey on board, the Eagles still kept their eyes open for veterans on the market. Then, Roseman struck gold by signing LeGarrette Blount to a team-friendly $1.25 million deal during the month of May last offseason.
Now, Howie and the front office could be doing something similar with West. Although West doesn’t have a Super Bowl track record like Blount, the Eagles clearly have shown that they can utilize many veterans in the backfield.
Next: Carson Wentz and Nick Foles are friends and teammates
West recently just wrapped up his three-year stint with the Ravens totaling up an unimpressive 138-yards and two touchdowns in 2017. It’s clear the Eagles are just in search of a veteran that could potentially make the team in camp. As we all know, the Eagles tend to keep their backfield busy so, the more depth, the better when preseason rolls around. No deal is in place as of right now, but we’re sure that some more details will be released later on in the week, concerning the visit.
